If it’s a currency, how do I convert?

In a world where it’s a constant quest to be happy, is there a measure as to how long this needs to be?

I walk towards you and from where and when our eyes not supposed to meet, I look and I feel the universe gives me my few seconds of happy.

You walk somewhere towards my direction and I pretend not to see, only when I look to my left, there you are. Again, a few more seconds of happy.

Then from this space where I stay, I saw you walk by – only to say goodbye.

Seconds are all I have. And when this is all the universe grants me, how do I convert this to a lifetime?
